#AwamoriTime Contest

The Embassy of Japan in Washington DC has launched a new website - Awamoritime.com - introducing the world’s oldest distilled beverage to the US market as a way of developing curiosity in Okinawa, a subtropical, blue zone destination “beyond time”.

The website’s centerpiece is a mixed-media short film that explores the heart of awamori, a relatively unknown liquor with an evolving 600-year-old process including aging, rendering a wondrous drink that is enjoyed in a myriad of ways.

To celebrate the website launch, the #Awamoritime social media contest has been launched to invite individuals to create Instagram-Reels that will be judged across 3 categories: Awamoriness, Originality, and Spirit by a diverse international jury. The contest winners will be announced the first week of April on Instagram and on Awamoritime.com. (See below for official contest details.)

HOW TO ENTER

Your creative shelter. Your Zen garden. Your mosh pit!

1. Post an Instagram Reel using our original audio showing us the ingredients that lead you to your AwamoriTime. Be sure to tag #AWAMORITIME

2. Submit by March 22, 12 AM (PST)

3. Win a trip to Okinawa?!

PRIZES

All contest entries will be judged across 3 categories: Awamoriness, Originality, and Spirit by a diverse international jury comprised of Japan-experts and complete novices.

1st Prize |   One winner will receive $3,000 worth of Okinawa Travel vouchers
2nd Prize |  One winner will receive a prize equivalent of $300
3rd Prize |   Five entrants will receive a “Omiyage” gift bag
