We are deeply saddened by the recent passing of Ms. Irene Hirano Inouye, the President of U.S.-Japan Council. President Hirano Inouye devoted her life to the preservation of the Japanese American history in the U.S. and to the strengthening of U.S.-Japan relationship. Japan House Los Angeles had a pleasure of working closely with U.S.-Japan Council under her distinguished leadership to build closer mutual understanding between the two countries. She also provided us with precious guidance and support as a former Advisor for Japan House Los Angeles. She will be deeply missed. Japan House Los Angeles expresses deepest condolences and sympathies to her family.
